Steve, who has recently joined the team as a Business Development Manager talks about how important the relationship with his broker network is, and how his eagerness for service and speed resulted in his appointment.

How did you get into the industry?
I have worked in the financial services industry now for over 25 years. I moved into bridging finance initially as a broker, which I believe gives me a deeper understanding of what our brokers want from a lender and the level of relationship that brokers want with a BDM. After carrying out a hybrid Broker/BDM role I moved into a BDM position which I have now undertaken for 6 years. I have been keen for some time to join SDKA due to the way that they operate; they are renowned for top notch service and speed which other lenders struggle to match, that is very important to me, great service and an ability to deliver loans quickly.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
To work smart, and to never give up.

What do you love most about what you do?
I am enthusiastic about the relationship that I have with my broker contacts, maintaining and nurturing that through visiting them. I have built great friendships with some of my brokers.

Tell us a surprising or fun fact about you.
I have 5 dogs, yes 5! And they look like foxes!! They certainly keep me busy!
