We’re delighted to share that SDKA was recently named a finalist in the ‘Excellence in Financial Services’ category at the prestigious Signature Awards — a celebration of outstanding achievements across business, industry, and entrepreneurship.

While we didn’t take home the company prize this time, we were incredibly honoured to be recognised amongst such esteemed peers and leaders in the financial services sector.

The night held an extra special moment for the SDKA team, as our Managing Director, Kunal Mehta, was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year.

Kunal’s journey is anything but conventional. After a 16-year career as a commercial airline pilot — culminating in the role of Training Captain at Emirates Airlines — he swapped the skies for short-term lending, founding SDKA in 2016. Since then, he has led the business from start-up to multi-award-winning lender, known for its client-first model, agile approach, and culture of care.

The Entrepreneur of the Year award recognises not just growth, but visionary leadership, innovation, and impact. Under Kunal’s leadership, SDKA has not only achieved sustained growth but redefined what a modern lender can look like — responsive, human, and deeply values-driven.

This recognition is a proud moment for Kunal and the entire SDKA team. It reflects our shared commitment to doing things differently — and doing them with purpose.
